Well I only gave it as a reference, cars are not my thing (they look cool but thats about all I know of them) a real modeller goes out and searches for his/her own blueprints and reference models (like you did).

But thanks for supplying us with correct ones.

Edit:
updated to the new, correct, blueprints. So does this mean the original ones from me were also correct? Becuase I can't remember which one I actually put on there in the first place.

Wink Quick Question....

A fellow student pointed out this competition to me, which was really nice of him. I am in the process of modeling a 2008 MINI Cooper for my HardSurface Modeling Class.

My quick question is this....Does it have to be a "S" model?

I have been putting some serious hours on my model and it would be great to be able to submit it. Thank you for your consideration!

of course you can join.

It's not that big of a deal if u take another variant. But this is just an exception for you since you already put some hard work into it (as you said) and itwould be stupid to redo that work just because we "need" the S version.
Go ahead and amaze us.

But be sure to read the rules (we do not judge the inside of the car).

Good luck

Mathias,

Thank you for the Email and letting me submit my MINI Cooper model that I am currently working on. It is something that I will be putting on my demo reel and enjoy sharing it with you all. I will post some renders since the start of the project.

I will post some images later this afternoon. Until then you can see one of my most current renders in the 3D Gallery.

Thanks again

I've made a change in rules, you have to include the polygon count on your render. This polygon count means the actual polygons rendered. So if you use a subdivision modifier to make it look smoother it will have to be the count after this modifier.

1 polygon becomes 4 poygons with 1 level of subdivision.

We should also point out that the second blueprint submited by Foxymop not only is the Base Mini Cooper (not the S) but also it's the older model prior to the 2007-08.
The one originaly supplied by Mathias may not have been very detailed but it WAS accurate.
For one thing, the new Mini's headlights are pulled back on the outside. They slant back as they sweep back on the fender. Before they were more head on.

Take your pick but know that there's a difference.

Hi guys,

I updated the rules, you need to have 2 renders one for each side and make it so we have a good look at how the body is modeled.

Sorry, I'll try to avoid changes next time.

don't forget to put your name and polygon count after subdivisions on it.

PS: is "primitives" the same as polygon for vray?

Hi Mathias,

I don't think so because when I have my Polycount displayed in Max, it doesn't give the same result as the "primitives" readout in vRay renders.

Ciao!
