Great job everyone that (kinda) finished the car.

Elbe3D, Phalconheart are the winners atm. Read the rules of part 2 and get modeling!
Good luck

Hi friends,
Thanks for your comments about my work.
Congratulation to Phalconheart - nice renders, good work

I have little question about nimbers of polys, do you think 15 000 polys

--- tri or quad ---- angle ? or doesn´t matter

quads, angle? why would it matter 2 quads under an angle of 45* still make it 2 quads. Or what do you mean?
Also if u look at your stat screen (showing the polygon count and such, you have to look at the number that's between ()) 50k poly's is what you have unsmoothed 1M poly's are the amount of poly's rendered.

I could be wrong but you're car is just too smooth/detailed to only have 50k poly's.

(could be that you already knowthis, but phalcon sure doesn't :D)

Hi, as I say , my knowledge of english is very low .I send you picture, maybe you understand me.

Yes. as you see in final pictures with data (polygon count), in the first width
is real count of points, polygons, in second width is count after segmentation by Hypernurbs. (How many polygons will have object(objects) after convert
to polygons) - info for Phalconheart ;-)

Why the second part of the comp needs to be a game model?
Why not a tunned version of it? Like need for speed, the fast and the furious, etc...
Or even better!!! A Dubbed version of it!!!

Please!!! Change it or i'm lost :(

Hey Mat! That was out of left field!!! I'm not sure where you jumped to that conclusion. Do you have an issue with my poly count? What led you to believe that I don't know how to read my poly count?

If you're refering to my car, I never claimed it had 50k polys. I'll assume you're talking about Elbe3D's car?

phalcon, I was talking to elbe... thought that was obvious, and I quoted you to explain to him what the real polygon count he has now is.

Here is what I quoted you from:
Quote:
Good luck on the second part. At least you're closer to the target poly count than I am! lol!!!! You're already under 50k polys and I've got to come down from over 300k! Yikes!!
He has around 1 mil polygons after subdivisions, not 50k like you think he has.

---------

Elbe, don't stress the fact that your model has triangles or hexagons.... I'm just saying that you should keep the polygon count between the () in mind when modeling for the 2nd part of the competition

---------

Haha kamikaze, no I think I'll stick with the low polygon request. I've seen your high polygon skills and it's good (amazing) but can you do it again with only 15 000 polygons to move and rotate?

Yeah, I just noticed that there were two numbers on his poly count! I guess it's a Cinema 4D thing. Never used it so you're right, I didn't know you had to look at the number between the brackets.
I guess you're never too old to learn new tricks! (woof)
