This looks awesome so far Jex, i would give more critz if i was better at modeling but i am still getting better at it. Though homer being a cartoon it wouldn't be too difficult getting the shape and look correct.

Whats your plans? You going to toon shader the final product or make it more of a realistic homer? Either way nice work =D

Show homer without the mesh/turbo smooth modifier.

That way it's easier for me to explain what could be wrong...
It's looking good, but I think you'll get problems animating it. I'll explain once I get confirmation of the low poly view.

i used edge extrude method, it was hard to keep his head cylindrical.

will it be a better idea to start with a cylinder then put a sphere on top?

Well jex what concearns me the most is the aready of the mouth corner (or how to you call it in english?), where the lips come together. If you would animate it with all those edges it will create bad results.

Also your edgeloops are not "flowing" in each other as fluidly as in most other organic models I've seen. But sadly I can not help you in giving examples since I'm pretty bad with stuff like this.

hey, nice so far, Mathias is right, the edgeloops are a bit off, and the mouth for Homer is too large, shorten it, but keep the edges of the mouth where they are, this will make it look more like corners. Also, render some images of the front and side, then if you know how, put them side by side with the images where you can see the edges.
Hope this Helps

hey Frenzy, i haven't modeled many organics myself but i think you usually want to use a sphere or and while modeling you want to cut the head down the middle in half and sync it so as you update 1 site it updates on the other =D

Hopefully Mathias and Jex will fill you in more
